Aqui Scores First Goals for the Azzurri!
By: Stephanie |
Since being promoted to the senior Azzurri squad, Aqui has been unable to score. However, that all changed today when he bagged a brace to help Italia beat Montenegro 2-1. Alberto said after the match, “This is the dream that every young player has. I had never scored for Italy before so this, and being in the starting XI with the Number 10 shirt, is incredible. I really could not have asked for anything more.” Hopefully Alberto ( and all the Romans who played today) can carry this form into the weekend to help Roma take down Inter… Congrats Alberto!

Apparently, Aqui’s bad mood has carried over to the national team as well…

Let’s hope the Romans can do well for the Azzurri. Forza Italia!

Roma won 3-0 against Reggina today, with goals from Panucci, Aqui, and Perrotta. Aqui helped set up the first goal, by sending a back pass to old Panucci. Albertino scored in the second half with a great left-footed goal from far range. He then proceeded to celebrate with some sort of spirit fingers/jazz hands move, before kissing the Roma badge.

Cross your fingers, Romanisti….I think the boys are back!

News and Rumors
By: Stephanie |
Depending on which web sites you read, there are reports that Alberto will get his contract extension either after the game against Palermo on Saturday, or after the Champions League match against Cluj. Il Romanista, and other sources, are all saying that he will start at a certain salary and it will increase every year, until the contract expires in 2012. There is also a recession clause, like the one in Jeremy Menez’s contract. Ok then….
…on to the gossip. (Just admit you love it.) Alberto’s love life has also been making headlines in the past week. He may, or may have not, stolen 19 year old actress Michela Quattrociocche (good luck tryin to say that last name) from her fiance, Matteo Branciamore. The two were supposedly seen at a restaurant in Rome, however, now people are saying that she was with another actor who just looks like Aqui. Doesn’t really matter either way, because Alberto usually has a different WAG every week.
Random Alberto Fact of the Day: Aqui introduced former Roma goalkeeper, Gianluca Curci, to his wife Sabrina. Alberto was dating Sabrina, and when they broke up, Curci swooped in and they are now married with a son.

Well, the game ended in a tie for Roma and Napoli, but I look like less of an idiot today for starting this blog. Alberto scored because of a great pass from Daniele De Rossi. Hopefully, the season will continue on a good note, and Aqui won’t injure himself for months at a time, like he usually does. Here are the highlights from today:
The Best Alberto Video Out There
By: Stephanie |
Supercoppa is Sunday; let’s hope the boys can bring the trophy back to Rome. Mostly because I hate that Balotelli kid. Alberto is rumored to be in the starting eleven, and I hope he does something great (like in the beginning of last season). Someone amazing put together this amazingly long amazing video. I mean seriously, it’s even got credits at the end. It’s definitely worth watching though. This Sunday:Inter, next Sunday: Napoli….Forza Roma!! I can’t wait for the season to start!!! Can you tell?
P.S. How strange/odd/fucked up was that Azzurri game?
Photos of the Day
By: Stephanie |So, the boys had a friendly against Egypt’s Al Ahly and won 3-0. God, I miss real games. The day before the game, Roma went to see the pyramids; Alberto said he was “really curious about how the Egyptions built them 5,000 years ago.” Yes, he really said that out loud. The start of the season can’t come fast enough…

Juve loves Aqui
By: Stephanie |
Juventus keeps trying to get Alberto’s signature, but Roma have stated he’s “not for sale.” Gigi Buffon has told Tuttosport that Aquilani is worth breaking the bank for:
“I still hope he will arrive, because in my view in a couple of years he’ll become one of the best in the world in his position.I think the administration know that Aquilani deserves a major economic push. We’ll see what happens.”
The bianconeri had their offer rejected.
“Juventus tried to enquire about him in the correct way when Giovanni Cobolli Gigli asked Rosella Sensi, but he’s not going anywhere,” revealed director of sport Daniele Pradé on Sky Italia. “The Sensi family has made it clear Aquilani is not for sale.”
So where the hell is the contract extension?!
Here’s a video for all you Romanisti who can understand an Italian talking a mile a minute:
