Welcome to the Aquilani blog!

By: Stephanie | July 1st, 2008

aqui rawrHello Offside!! I’m so excited to bring you a player’s blog for one of our favorite Romanisti Alberto Aquilani. Over the past couple of years he’s been the break out star for AS Roma and the Nazionale. I think he’s one of the most unique players in Italy today, and he’s the future of the Azzurri. First a little background on me: My name is Stephanie, I’m 22, and I live in Chicago. My family is from Salerno, IT and I’ve been watching Serie A and the national team pretty much my whole life. My favorite teams are Roma and Milan, but I can appreciate all things calcio (except Inter).

Well the boys will return to Trigoria in a few weeks, until then I’ll be posting on everything you would want to know (and probably a whole lot you don’t really need to know) about IL Principino di Roma. Chris over at Roma Offside is excellent at what he does- I’m a big fan- so this isn’t going to be Roma’s mini-me blog or anything, just a little section on Alberto.

Unfortunately, Alberto didn’t get to score his first goal for the Azzurri at the Euros…and that’s all I will mention about the Euros. You know it was bad when you you get off the plane looking like this:

I’ll have my next post up soon, most likely recapping the past season, which will include my favorite Aquilani moments of the past year. Off the top of my head I can already tell you it will include the second leg of the Madrid game, the screamers he scored at the beginning of the season and the fight he started with old man Panucci. Basically, I’m just trying to get this up and running. This is the first blog I’ve ever been involved in, so all comment/questions are welcome!

What a waste of blog space. Let’s wait until he actually accomplishes something. De Rossi, yes. Aquilani, no.

Alessio.. be nice.. The girls like their Aquilani.. They can’t get enough of him apparently.. I’m surprised his Tottiness doesn’t have one. But in reality these player blogs are idiotic to begin with. Instead of going to one place for info you have to jump to 24 by the end of it? I don’t want to be going to the Roma page then the Totti page, the De Rossi page, the Aquilani page, the Mexes page, the GOMER page and finally the Italy page.. But I will if they pop up.

Hi Stephanie, I’m really pleased to see another Italian player has his own blog. He’s a very good player who hopefully has an excellent future ahead of him, so it will be interesting to see how he develops.

Bashar I agree but c’mon, the kid hasn’t accomplished anything yet. He’s still a “emerging” star. Should there be a Giovinco one already?
